MIFARE card technology refers to the most widely used type of contactless smart cards. Thanks to their reliability and low cost, these cards are widely used for access control, electronic wallet, corporate ID cards, transportation or stadium ticketing. MIFARE cards are smartcards that contain memory that enable multiple applications to read and write data to and from the card. The memory on the MIFARE classic cards is divided into 16 sectors and each sector is protected by its own keys. Each MIFARE classic card has a unique serial number.
